Special moments from one of the holiest places in the world, the town of Liska, where the deep and blessing-filled prayers recited at the grave of the great tzadik, Rebbe Hershele Lisker zt"l (רבי הערשעלע ליסקער זצ״ל), resonate.

Unique moments unfold in one of the holiest places on earth, the town of Liska, where heartfelt prayers offered at the grave of the revered tzadik, Rebbe Hershele Lisker zt"l, echo with blessings.

Through this prayer, we plead for healing for those who are unwell, financial support for the poor, and peace and wellness for Israel and all of humankind. Liska has historically been an important place in Jewish life, especially because it was where the Liska Rebbe established a remarkable synagogue, which was one of the largest in Europe then. Jewish communities keep the memory of the town and the tzadik alive, as many make pilgrimages here to seek blessings in the spirit of the Kivrei Tzadikim tradition.

Rebbe Hershele Lisker (רבי הערשעלע ליסקער), better known as Zvi Hirsh Friedmann (צבי הירש פרידמאן) and the celebrated author of Ach Pri Tevu'ah (אך פרי תבואה), was a significant Hasidic leader whose teachings remain influential among his followers today. A disciple of the esteemed Teitelbaum Moshe zt"l (משה טייטלבוים זצ״ל), known as the Yismach Moshe (ישמח משה), the Rebbe was enriched with profound Torah and Hasidic insights. The close disciple relationship endures within Hasidic communities, particularly among Satmar followers, who cherish the legacies of both Teitelbaum and Rebbe Hershele Lisker.

Hasidic communities around the world, including those in Borough Park, Williamsburg, and across Israel, maintain a profound respect for the town of Liska and the legacy of the Liska Rebbe. The Liska cemetery is one of the most important Kivrei Tzadikim sites, where prayers are imbued with special power through the tzadik's merit. During the Rebbe's yahrzeit (יארצייט), thousands gather at this site to pray and request blessings for their families and communities.

The spiritual legacy of the Liska Rebbe, embodied in works such as Ach Pri Tevu'ah (אך פרי תבואה) and Hayoshor veHatov (הישר והטוב), continues to inspire and guide Jewish communities globally. This holy land of Liska, known for its history of miracles and blessings, is also a vibrant site where fervent prayers are listened to, granting blessings to those who come in search.
